GitLab was created in 2011 by Dmitriy Zaporozhets from his home in Ukraine. The house didn’t have running water, but for Dmitriy the bigger problem was not having a code repo to collaborate with his team. So, he pushed the init commit of GitLab. At that time, GitHub was already running. In this article, we’ll focus on things GitLab does better.
