Windows 10 is going to be the last version of Windows.

Or so we thought.

A week ago, Microsoft announced Windows 11 and it is going to be released in the fall. It is going to be a free update for Windows 10 users (if your PC is eligible), so it’s more like some of the recent feature updates. However, none of the latest updates got any major new coverage. “Just a random Windows update” isn’t going to produce nearly as much publicity as “Windows 11”.

So let’s have a look at the new features coming in Windows 11 and whether it’s worth upgrading to the new operating system.

Hardware Requirements

Looking at the minimum hardware requirements there isn’t anything special at first glance: 1GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, DirectX 12 compatible GPU, and 64GB of storage space. All reasonable for even lower specced systems of the last decade.

However, there is another requirement that’s going to prevent a lot of computers from running Windows 11. It requires TPM 2.0.
